ACE Summer Camp Teaching Assistant



Start date: Sunday, July 24, 2022 (There will also be a couple hour training 1-2 weeks before the start of camp)

End date: Friday, July 29, 2022

Hours: This is an overnight camp; TA hours will be during the day, Sunday through Friday, approximately 5 hours/day. Camp runs Saturday to Saturday.


Job Description:   

The College of Architecture and Planning, in partnership with the ACE Mentor Program, will be running a week-long overnight camp for 30-36 high schoolers from all over the US. Students will participate in a design build project while exploring the fields of architecture, engineering and construction. Learn more about the camp here. Teaching Assistant tasks include, but are not limited to, the following: 


Facilitating groups of students in carrying out learning tasks and design build activities; work one-on-one with students.

Helping teach and lead sessions and activities as designated by instructors.

Assisting instructors in the preparation of classes.

Preparing and organizing materials as requested by the instructor.

Other duties assigned.


Desired Skills and Qualifications

Organizational and communication skills.

Experience in design software such as Rhino, Revitt, Sketchup.

Be at least a junior or senior in the BS Architecture program or a graduate student in any major within CAP.

Be in good academic standing.

Must be able to work as a team member and the ability to accomplish tasks with little direct supervision.

Work-study preferred, but not required.
